Mind Peace Clinics and Roundtrip have partnered to solve transportation needs for patients undergoing ketamine infusions for the treatment of depression, PTSD, anxiety, and chronic pain syndromes.

Recently opening their doors in Arlington and Richmond, VA, Mind Peace Clinics provide ketamine infusions for patients with severe, treatment-resistant depression, bipolar depression, PTSD, and major depressive disorder. In addition, some patients are using ketamine infusions to deal with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).  While treatments are purely elective, and patients make their own decisions about pursuing the treatment, thousands of patients treated with ketamine have shown significant improvement in their symptoms. A ton of research and many clinical trials are in the works to learn even more about the effects on ketamine treatment on mental health. Earlier this year, two papers were published in Nature that shed light on the mechanisms that underlie lateral habenula (LHb) hyperactivity, and on how the antidepressant drug ketamine modulates this state. Read how Ketamine blocks bursting in the lateral habenula to rapidly relieve depression here.

Mind Peace Clinics approached Roundtrip with the need to transport patients who are undergoing ketamine infusions to and from the clinic. After the ketamine infusion, patients recover from mild after-effects, making it unsafe for patients to drive a car or operate heavy machinery for 48 hours after their infusions. For people who may not have a friend or family member available to accompany and pick-up/drop-off patients, we are here to help.

Today, Roundtrip coordinates rideshares through Lyft and provides additional coordination for insurance coverage to reduce the financial burden of transportation on Mind Peace Clinics.

We are incredibly excited to be working with Mind Peace Clinics as they grow and expand. It is a real honor to be partnered with an organization that is pioneering, progressive, people-focused, and outcome-focused. Treating and addressing the growing mental health needs of the society we live in is a shared top priority with our team here at Roundtrip and the team at Mind Peace Clinics.
